Sunscreen or no Sunscreen?

Image
See the sun shining in the window, time to start a new day. This is a line from a famous kids poem. Yes, the sun has risen and it is a beautiful day. While some exposure to Sunlight is good, helps the skin to manufacture Vitamin-D which is important for normal bone function, but it has a major downside too. With the sunlight, comes the ultraviolet radiations which can cause major damage to the skin. The Ultraviolet light can be further divided into UVA, UVB and UVC. Both UVA and UVB can enter the earth's atmosphere and penetrate into your skin. UVB causes skin damage and sunburns. UVA can penetrate deeper into your skin and cause photoaging like wrinkles and age spots  It is also known that UVA and UVB cause skin cancer. The UV radiations are much stronger at high altitudes and near the equator. So the risk of sun burns is more in these regions. The UVA radiations can also penetrate through standard window glass. To protect your skin from the harmful radiations of sunlight, you rea...

The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. ~Audrey Hepburn When we talk about beautiful eyes, one word always comes to our minds and that is our former miss world, Aishwarya Rai. Every girl has a dream to have beautiful eyes just like her. And we know that it is not possible to change the genetics of your eyes. But one thing we can do and that is to have flawless eyes. Eye cream is a must these days if you want to get away with stressful and fatigue eyes. Stressful eyes cause not only dark circles and puffiness but premature ageing around your eyes which we call fine lines and wrinkles. We all care about our face skin by regular scrubbing, facials but there are very few who really care about the skin around eyes. If you are among those few, it is great but if you are not you can always start taking care of it.  You must be thinking about which cream you should start with? I would advise you to start with...

Ahaglow Face wash

Let me  make one thing very, very clear          "Your skin" Yes ,  beautiful flawless skin is what everyone wants. We all look for products which hydrate our skin, provide nutrition to it, remove dead skin, reduce fine lines. Ageing gracefully is a term we all look for. Human skin has two layers. The outermost layer is called the epidermis and the underlying layer is called dermis. Any topical compound should be able to pass the outer layer and reach the inner layer of skin for best results. Image Source: Wikimedia Commons There is one compound which can reach the inner layer, and which forms the basis of gorgeous skin and that is AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid). The AHAs are used in chemical peeling too. Today, many beauty products contain AHA compound in them. AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) are a group of organic carboxylic compounds. The most common AHAs used in the cosmetic product are glycolic acid, lactic acid, malic acid, citric acid and tartaric ac...

I usually do not get time for regular hair spa. A regular hair spa helps in treating your frizzy hair, providing nutrition to your scalp and hair but balancing the professional and personal life need such sacrifices. I wanted to have one thing which could treat my frizzy hair and smoothen them. After doing some online research, I bought Wella professionals INVIGO deep nourishing hair mask with goji berry. About the product It's a deeply nourishing hair mask with goji berry. Now comes the question, what is Goji berry? Goji berry is a superfood. It is full of antioxidants and has 500 times more Vitamin-C than oranges and fifteen times more iron than spinach. Goji berry has 21 nutrients in it. This fruit is consumed by celebrities because of its anti-ageing properties. How to use Apply the cream on the scalp as well as the length of the hair. Kama Ayurveda Bringadi Intensive Hair Treatment Oil Review

Image
Thousands of years ago, alternative medicine was followed in south-east Asia. It was based on the use of natural ingredients and was called Ayurveda. " Ayuh " means life and " Ved " means knowledge so the meaning of Ayurveda in Sanskrit is life knowledge. Ayurveda forms the basis of our lives. Today, Ayurveda is not only followed in India but worldwide. From kitchen to bathroom our houses have abundant natural products and there is one plant whose benefits I can never ignore, and that is Bhringraj or Bhringa. The botanical name of this plant is "Eclipta Alba". Bhringraj has multiple uses. One of its main uses is that it revitalizes your hair. Although the importance of good healthy hair is known to all, I will mention the following quotes which really put it out best:-  "Hair is the crown you never take off" and  "Never, never, never give up on your hair" Bhringraj helps delay premature greying of hair. Bhringraj plant (Eclipta Alba) ha...

Dead skin needs to go. You can't keep it. " My biggest beauty tip would be  exfoliation ,  exfoliation ,  exfoliation ! After a lifetime of almost no breakouts, I started having some pretty embarrassing ones and learned that if you don't  exfoliate , your skin has a hard time shedding the old skin and therefore clogs your pores and causes zits (hooray!) .   ~ Amanda Crew, Canadian Actress    Photo Source: Wikipedia Skin is the largest organ of the body. The outer layer which we see is called the epidermis and this layer is the one which gets  exposed to the external environment like sun, pollution etc. The skin cycle is of approximately 6 weeks which is the basis of skin health restoration. It takes 40 days for the skin to come out of the deep layer to the surface and then shed. The new skin is naturally hydrated and more tolerant to the external environment. This cycle gets lengthened in normal ageing and photo ageing (changes in the s...

Breakup really hurts! They said. Have you ever had hair fall? She Taunted. ~Mirthula Rani This quote sums up the pain of hair fall. Beautiful and healthy hair not only look beautiful but they also reflect your physical and mental well being. A normal healthy individual has around 10,00,000 scalp hair. Ans it is normal to lose 50 to 100 strands of hair a day. Less than one per cent of hair is in the shedding phase at any one time. If you have more hair fall than that, then you need to worry about. Hair shedding and hair thinning are common problems among men and women both as the age passes. Causes for hair loss include:-  Mental stress Illness (cancer) Hereditary Alopecia Arreata (hair loss in patches) Nutritional deficiencies like Biotin, Iron, Zinc Hormonal imbalances like in hypothyroidism, post-pregnancy hair loss. Scalp infections. If you have any  medical condition like alopecia, cancer, hypothyroidism then you need to consult a dermatologist/ Trichologist ( Trichologist...

Cetaphil restoraderm skin restoring body moisturizer review

Image
Many women have a habit of changing their makeup products from time to time. We hardly find somebody who uses the same products for years and years. If I ask you how many beauty-related products you are using consistently for the past five years to ten years. I think that would not be more than one or two. I am no different. I also change my beauty products when they are either finished or expired to try new products. But there is one thing in my dressing table which I have not changed for the past 6 years and that is Cetaphil Restoraderm skin restoring body moisturizer. I do not think there is a need to emphasize the importance of a moisturizing routine. Still to make sure you understand how important it is I will give these quotes:- My make up artist, Tonya Brewer, taught me the importance of moisturizing daily. Hydration is a must if you want pretty, dewy skin - which I love. ~Bella Thorne, American Actress, Model and Singer You know what the actors are like; they moisturize every n...

Mcaffeine naked and rich choco face mask review.

Image
Today, we will review a very different product in the market and that is Mcaffeine naked & rich choco face mask. It looks like the picture given below: It is for those who have dry skin. It has beautiful aroma of chocolate. You will feel as if you have applied a bar of real chocolate on your face. (You will get a small wooden spatula inside the box for application) It is one of the few masks which have real chocolate in it as they claim. Chocolate has it's own anti-ageing properties. It makes your skin smooth and spotless. People with dry skin usually feel rough after applying a face mask but not with this. It's so rich in chocolate that you'll feel like eating it. But please don't. :)  It doesn't make your skin rough after removal. But still, apply a good layer of moisturizer after removing the mask as it is a basic protocol to hydrate your skin afterwards. It's a middle segment face mask, costing below Rs. 600 (INR) and will give you around 15 sessions and...
