Yes, beautiful flawless skin is what everyone wants. We all look for products which hydrate our skin, provide nutrition to it, remove dead skin, reduce fine lines. Ageing gracefully is a term we all look for.

Human skin has two layers. The outermost layer is called the epidermis and the underlying layer is called dermis. Any topical compound should be able to pass the outer layer and reach the inner layer of skin for best results.

There is one compound which can reach the inner layer, and which forms the basis of gorgeous skin and that is AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid). The AHAs are used in chemical peeling too.


Today, many beauty products contain AHA compound in them. AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) are a group of organic carboxylic compounds. The most common AHAs used in the cosmetic product are glycolic acid, lactic acid, malic acid, citric acid and tartaric acid. Glycolic acid is the most popular product used in cosmetics because of it's smallest molecular size enabling it to penetrate the skin easily.

It helps in breaking the bonds between the dead skin cells which result in easier shedding of dead skin, resulting in smooth and younger skin below.


There is one product in the market which I had used for a while years ago and have started using again and that is Ahaglow face wash by torrent company.

It has Glycolic acid among its ingredients. The fluid is transparent and has blue, yellow, red coloured beads called minicapsules in it. You need to press or break these minicapsules in your palm before applying. The company claims that it is a skin rejuvenating facewash that purifies and cleanses your skin. It reduces superficial wrinkles and removes dead skin. 


My review: 

Every time I wash my face using this, my skin feels softer and smoother. I believe that it works wonder on your fine lines too. The directions say that we can use it twice a day to get the best results but, I do not recommend it to be used twice every day. I use it every alternate day as I have dry skin and I do not need to exfoliate this much.


I believe product containing AHAs are must be part of your skincare regiment if you are looking for flawless and younger-looking skin.


It is a middle segment product. It is available in different sizes including 50gms,100gms,200gms. A 50gms pack will cost around INR 255.
